GIENG NGU THRONE AND LEGENDS
Going along the costal forest path for about 2 kilometers from the busy crowed center of An thoi town, visitors will reach a place with King Gia Long’legends during the days he tried to escape from hot pursuit of the Tay Son Army. Yoou will go through the jungle of frangant flowers and wild grass , and a clear water area with very white winding sandbank around the mountain foot embracing fishing ships a small temple on very steep large rock. The remain are is a majestic pink rock chair, called the throne, with the back to the sea and front to the vast field. This place has still kept numerous legends of Lord Nguyen Anh during his time escaping from the Tay Son army. With no fresh water for the army, Nguyuen Anh stamped hid foot and pointed the sword into the earth’s womb when a fresh water current suddenly gushed out and has been pouring until now, the shoe mark is now carved on rock, and it is called Gieng Ngu (imperial well) or Gieng Tien ( fairy well) or Gieng Gia Long ( Gia Long well) by local residents
